Monday, November 3, 2008 - Ravenswood Pool Offers Basic Water Rescue Course Nov. 16
St. Lucie County's Parks and Recreation Department will offer a basic water rescue course on Sunday, Nov. 16 from 12:45 - 5 p.m. at the Ravenswood Pool, 200 Ravenswood Lane.The American Red Cross Basic Water Rescue course provides individuals with the information and skills necessary to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies.
The cost to participate in this course is $45. Registration must take place by Thursday, Nov. 13 at Ravenswood Pool, which is open seven days a week from noon - 5 p.m. with extended hours on Mondays and Wednesdays until 7 p.m. through Nov. 30.
Those taking the course will need to bring a bathing suit and a towel. Participants do not need to know how to swim to take this course.
This class meets the requirements for foster parents, camp and public safety personnel or anyone who works near a body of water.
