Thursday, October 30, 2008 - Fort Pierce Library Presents Author Jean Williams Nov. 8

The Fort Pierce Branch Library presents Florida Author Jean ''Notewell'' Williams on Saturday, Nov. 8 from noon - 3:30 p.m. as she presents her latest book: ''Freddie Gibson, A Man Along Life's Highway: A Florida Highway Man.''  

Williams is a business owner, entrepreneur, photographer and author of two books. Her most recent book details the life of artist Freddie Gibson, who is a member of the group of traveling African American artists known as the Highwaymen. Most of the Highwaymen artists got their start in Fort Pierce and traveled the state in the 1950s and 1960s selling their landscape paintings out of the trunks of their cars to businesses, hotels and residents.

This event is free and open to the public.
