November 16, 2007 - FP Library Offers Indian River Lagoon Boat Tours Dec. 8
Audubon Warden Capt. ''Chop'' Legé and the Fort Pierce Library will once again offer boat tours of the Indian River Lagoon to the public on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 10:15 a.m. Registration is required and seating is limited.Would you like to see dolphins, manatees, osprey, and other wildlife? Then take part in cruising the Indian River Lagoon, which has the largest diversity of animal and plant life of any estuary in the continental United States.
Join experienced guides on a 90-minute educational wildlife and bird tour.
Capt. Legé is an Audubon Warden who has partnered with the Marine Resources Council and is sponsored by Mosquito Control of St. Lucie County. He offers lagoon boat tours to school groups and Boy Scout and Girl Scout groups.
To register for the boat tour call (772) 462-1694 and leave your name, phone number, and the number of people you wish to register. Please also call this number to leave a message if you have any questions about the boat tour and your call will be returned.
Once you are registered for a boat trip, you will need to have one person in your party come to the circulation desk at the Fort Pierce Library to obtain your tickets at least 15 minutes before the time of the tour. Tickets may only be picked up on the day of the trip. You will then be escorted to the boat where you will hand in your ticket(s).
