Workshop On New Irrigation/Fertilizer Ordinances March 11

A workshop on new irrigation/fertilizer ordinances scheduled for March 11.
The University of Florida / IFAS - St. Lucie County Cooperative Extension is inviting you to participate in a workshop titled ''Nutrient Management in the Urban Environment.''  This workshop will review two proposed County ordinances, both addressing State Senate Bill 494, passed in 2009.  One ordinance addresses residential irrigation moisture sensing devices and their maintenance; the other addresses proposed new restrictions on fertilizer application and an educational requirement for urban fertilizer applicators.

A facilitated panel discussion with UF/IFAS, Indian River Lagoon National Estuary program, Indian Riverkeeper, FNGLA, Fertilizer representative and an Irrigation representative will present background information for you, as the stakeholder, to in-turn provide feedback on these ordinances.
