Green Collar Workshop Slated For March 15

Green Collar workshop slated for March 15 at the R. Duke Nelson Center in Fort Pierce.
Due to the overwhelming response, those unable to attend the first Green Collar Information meeting will have another opportunity at the R. Duke Nelson Human Development and Resources Centre on Monday, March 15.

More than 80 people turned out to the first information meeting held in St Lucie West on Feb 18.

''Once we reached capacity, we had to turn people away with the promise that a second date would be added,'' the St Lucie Branch Manager of Workforce Solutions Rhonda Blakey said. ''I'm pleased the second date has been added.''

The additional Green Collar Information meeting will be held on Monday, March 15 at the R. Duke Nelson Human Development and Resources Centre located in Ft Pierce at 3002 Avenue D. The presentation will begin promptly at 4:30 p.m. People interested in attending are asked to log on to www.YourWorkforceSolutions.com or call Christina Lane at (772) 408-1260 x513 to register.

Attendees will learn more about the apprenticeship opportunity granted the Green Collar Task Force. They will learn how this program will allow them work while gaining new skills and certifications that will make them more competitive. Attendees interested in pursuing this opportunity will also learn what their next steps should be.
Three other information meetings were held in Martin County, Indian River County and Okeechobee County prior to the one in St Lucie West. At this time, no additional dates are being added in those counties but Workforce Solutions encourages anyone from those counties interested in learning more about the Green Collar Task Force program to register and attend the event at the R. Duke Nelson Centre in Fort Pierce.
