| Additional Information | Trails: One mile self guiding interpretive trail (mulched) winds through the hammock identifying the most common species. Habitat: Primarily Mangrove forest with approximately 1 mile beach dune system along the Atlantic Ocean and 1 mile along the Indian River lagoon. Commonly seen wildlife: Pelicans, sandpipers, plovers, and seagulls. An important nesting area for Green and Loggerhead sea turtles. |
| Historical Interest | Remnants of W.W. II gun emplacements are visible at low tide along the beach. These guns were placed at this location to protect against the threat of U-Boats sinking maritime vessels. |
